Job Description
The Head of UK Asset Care reports to the Operations Director and is responsible for managing Aqua Operation’s (AOL) portfolio of Asset Care and Service Contracts. Asset care predominately are projects under a value of £0.5m for our industrial clients, where there is a strong interface with site operations. These types of works include (as examples) installation of hire equipment, pumps and equipment, fabrication, tank refurbishments, and operational/maintenance service contracts.
In addition, AOL also manufactures and installs a product called Dynamix, used for mixing of waste-water primarily in municipal water companies for chemical mixing and Phosphate Removal. We are looking for someone to manage the end-to-end process of these products, including working with the wider AOL/Glanua team to promote their use within the wider water industry.
The Head of UK Asset Care will ideally come from an Industrial Water background, although Municipal Water experience will also be considered, ideally from an Operation Management and/or project management background where they have experience managing multiple small-scale projects with significant interface with site clients and operational teams.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Co-ordinate and implementation of HSE systems
- Visible leadership on HSE issues at all levels both in the client organisation and within AOL
- Line management of Project Managers
- Initial O&M start-up and/or support contract
- Control of costs on projects - suppliers and subcontractors
- Recognition of risks to AOL contract and operation
- Management of projects with view of long-term site service contracts and O&M opportunities
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with Customer personnel, AOL teams, and sub-contractor staff
- Management of multiple-projects managing the end-to-end process from concept to completion
- Gain recognition by the customer as the key person with respect to AOL activities on site where we are working on projects
- Understanding of contracts to manage delivery risks
- End-to-end management of Dynamix projects
- Working with design teams to ensure management of proposals to our clients
- Working closely with operational site teams and engineers
- Ability to identify projects and determine solutions, often when clients are not sure
- Knowledge of industry technology and ability to build a network with trusted suppliers
- Management and co-ordination of subcontractors
- Ensure proper resources are available
- Support the development of the ‘AOL’ culture of ownership, involvement, and accountability for plant operations
Knowledge and Experience:
Water / waste water, experience performing in an Operations/Project Management Role. To be able to demonstrate through previous work experience technical and operational knowledge of one or more areas of water / waste water treatment. Experience working directly with a Customer including attending, facilitating, and contributing to meetings.
