Your responsibilities

As an estimator, you will produce estimates from Bills of Quantities (BQ), drawings, and specifications, working on both traditional and design & build contracts. You will serve a diverse client base with projects valued from £50k to £15m. Building strong client relationships and working collaboratively within public framework environments is essential.

  • Appraise and evaluate client tender requirements and specifications for bid preparation
  • Abstract and report on tender stage information
  • Manage tender information efficiently
  • Conduct tender site visits
  • Develop subcontract trade package enquiries
  • Take off and produce tender bills of quantities
  • Price tender labour, plant, and material rates
  • Analyze supply chain enquiries for tenders
  • Produce tender risk assessments
  • Report for tender adjudication
  • Communicate and hand over estimates
  • Engage early with client teams to provide cost advice
  • Develop early-stage project cost plans
  • Manage client expectations during preconstruction
  • Deliver value engineering and optioneering
  • Manage and report on tender stage cost controls
  • Work within a collaborative client team environment
