Job summary

Apple Technical Recruitment (UK) is recruiting a Construction Estimator for a leading main contractor in East Anglia. You will lead on tenders, pricing and cost planning for high-value projects, ensuring bids are competitive and profitable from early design through to contract.

Projects range £5m-£20m across Education, Leisure and Commercial sectors. The team values long-tenured staff; 5+ years in Estimating and Conquest software experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with main contractors in Estimating roles.
• Able to price work autonomously.
• Previously used Conquest estimating software.
• Sector experience must include projects >£10m.
• Roles: Lead Estimator, Senior Estimator or Estimator.

Responsibilities

• Lead on select tenders, pricing and cost planning for high-value projects.
• Ensure bids are competitive, accurate and profitable from design to contract.
• Create build costs and manage estimating for projects worth £5m-£20m.
• Identify risks early and propose actionable solutions.

Company & Project:

A successful privately owned main contractor with an established reputation in the construction industry are looking to recruit an experienced Construction Estimator to join their long standing pre-construction team in East Anglia.

The client has secured a number of key project wins recently alongside places on new frameworks and as a result has a growing number of new tenders for which they require an experienced Estimator.

The projects/tenders are varied in sector and are across multiple build types including New Build and Refurbishment predominantly across the Education, Leisure and Commercial sectors to c£20m in value.

The business are well known for looking after their employees and many of their team have been working for the business for the past 10years+.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Work as part of a team and as a lead estimator on select tenders pricing and cost planning for high-value construction projects. Responsible for ensuring bids are competitive, accurate, and profitable from the early design stages until the contract is signed.

Create accurate build costs and manage the full estimating process for projects c£5m-£20m in value.

Find potential commercial or technical risks early and suggest solutions to fix them.

Check subcontractor quotes in detail to ensure they are fair and complete.

Desirable Experience:

• 5 years+ experience with main contractors in pure Estimating roles.
• Able to price work autonomously.
• Previously used Conquest estimating software.
• Sector experience must include projects in excess of £10m.
• Previous Roles: Lead Estimator OR Senior Estimator OR Estimator.

Qualifications & Skills:

Degree/BTEC (or comparable) in Construction related subject.

Conquest software experience.
