We are looking for a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at our Uddingston HQ. If you are passionate about renewable energy and thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment, we want to hear from you.

The Role

As a Construction Estimator with Emtec Energy, you'll play a key role in supporting the Commercial Manager by leading estimating efforts for a diverse range of projects. From individual rooftop solar installations to large scale turnkey renewable energy solutions, you will help drive innovation in the infrastructure and construction sectors.

Key Responsibilities

1. Conduct tender reviews to fully understand project requirements and timelines.
2. Prepare detailed cost estimates (BoQ) and develop compelling tender submissions including programmes of work, risk register and tender qualifications where necessary.
3. Create comprehensive tender packs for subcontractors, covering groundworks, electrical installation and other key project aspects.
4. Maintain and update project trackers to ensure effective monitoring.
5. Work closely with in-house design, procurement and delivery teams to align project goals.
6. Attend site visits to gain a thorough understanding of customer needs and project scope.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

1. A relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
2. Previous estimating experience in a contracting environment within construction, civils, infrastructure or M&E sectors.
3. Ability to understand client requirements and develop clear, persuasive bids.
4. Strong analytical and mathematical skills with a keen eye for detail.
5. Commercial awareness and a strategic approach to risk management.
6. Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
8. Knowledge of current construction and M&E standard and compliance requirements.
9. Desirable: Experience in the renewable energy industry and familiarity with Solar PV design software.
