At Cavendish Nuclear, we’re working to create a safe and secure world. Join us as a Construction Engineer - Mechanical Piping at the Hinkley Point C nuclear project in Bridgwater, Somerset.

This opportunity involves working with the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance coordinates the delivery of main MEH, cabling, and support services, aiming to deliver complex cabling and pipework installations efficiently.

The role

You will lead, manage, and motivate the team, ensuring best practices, continuous improvement, and compliance with nuclear safety and site license requirements.

Responsibilities include:

• Drive Digital Enablement for Construction Progress: Lead implementation of the Procon system for efficient workflows and real-time reporting.
• Ensure Compliance and Readiness for Site Activities: Manage interfaces with Work Authorization and Permit systems to ensure full compliance.
• Coordinate Safe and Strategic Site Access: Oversee planning of safe access routes for construction.
• Support Precision Through Surveying and Data: Facilitate surveys to support construction planning.
• Own Documentation for Construction Milestones: Ensure documentation is accurate, compliant, and aligned with project milestones.

This is a full-time role based on 37 hours per week at Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset.

Essential experience:

• Proven experience on large-scale, regulated infrastructure projects with expertise in Safe Systems of Work.
• Effective operation at Engineer or Senior Engineer level within multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications:

• HNC qualification or equivalent vocational training and experience in Mechanical and Piping systems.

Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain SC clearance.
