At Cavendish Nuclear, we’re working to create a safe and secure world. Join us as a Construction Engineer - Mechanical Piping at the Hinkley Point C nuclear project in Bridgwater, Somerset.

This opportunity involves working with the MEH Alliance on the Hinkley Point C Nuclear project, focusing on the integration and coordination of main MEH, cabling, and support services to ensure the complex installation of cabling and pipework.

The role

You will lead, manage, and motivate a team, ensuring best practices, continuous improvement, and compliance with nuclear safety standards. Your responsibilities include delivering Mechanical & Piping Construction Workpacks, supporting the MEH Alliance programme, and fostering a strong safety culture throughout the project lifecycle.

• Use the Procon system to support construction works and progress reporting.
• Manage Work Authorization and Permit systems in compliance with NNB requirements.
• Coordinate safe access routing for construction activities.
• Support topographical and other surveys for construction.
• Prioritize and own documentation to support construction as per the project plan.
• Ensure all documents are compliant with latest information and MEH documentation.

This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, based at Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset.

Essential experience

• Experience in major construction projects, with a proven track record in a highly regulated sector and knowledge of Safe Systems of Work.
• Experience at Engineer or Senior Engineer level, including within Joint Ventures.

Qualifications

• HNC qualification or equivalent vocational training and experience in installing Mechanical and Piping systems.
