Construction Engineer - Mechanical Piping

At Cavendish Nuclear, we’re working to create a safe and secure world. Join us as a Construction Engineer - Mechanical Piping at the Hinkley Point C nuclear project.

This opportunity is part of the MEH Alliance, which manages the delivery of main MEH, cabling, and support services in the project, aiming to integrate contractors for complex cabling and pipework installation.

The role:

You will lead, manage, and motivate the team, ensuring best practices, continuous improvement, and compliance with nuclear safety standards. Your daily tasks include delivering Mechanical & Piping Workpacks, promoting a strong safety culture, and supporting project milestones.

  • Drive Digital Enablement: Lead the implementation of the Procon system for efficient workflows and real-time progress reporting.
  • Ensure Compliance: Manage interfaces with NNB’s systems to ensure all activities are compliant and ready for execution.
  • Coordinate Site Access: Oversee planning of safe access routes for construction activities.
  • Support Surveying: Facilitate surveys to provide accurate data for planning.
  • Documentation: Ensure all construction documentation is accurate and aligned with project milestones.

This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, at Hinkley Point C, Somerset.

Essential Experience:

  • Proven experience in large-scale, regulated infrastructure projects, with expertise in Safe Systems of Work.
  • Experience as an Engineer or Senior Engineer delivering high-quality outcomes within multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications:

  • HNC or equivalent vocational training in Mechanical and Piping systems.

Security Clearance: Must be able to achieve and maintain SC clearance.
