At Cavendish Nuclear we’re working to create a safe and secure world. Join us as a Construction Engineer - Mechanical Piping at Hinkley Point C in Bridgwater, Somerset.

This role is part of the MEH Alliance on the Hinkley Point C Nuclear project, focusing on integrating and coordinating the delivery of main MEH, cabling, and support services for complex installations.

The role

You will lead and manage the team, implement best practices, support continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with nuclear safety and site license requirements. Your daily tasks will include delivering Mechanical & Piping Construction Workpacks, promoting a strong HSE culture, and supporting the project’s progress.

• Drive Digital Enablement for Construction Progress: Lead the implementation of the Procon system for efficient workflows and real-time progress reporting.
• Ensure Compliance and Readiness for Site Activities: Manage interfaces with NNB’s Work Authorization and Permit systems to ensure full compliance.
• Coordinate Safe and Strategic Site Access: Oversee planning of safe access routes for construction activities.
• Support Precision Through Surveying and Data: Facilitate surveys to provide accurate data for planning and execution.
• Own Documentation for Construction Milestones: Ensure all documentation is accurate, compliant, and aligned with project milestones.

This is a full-time role based on 37 hours per week at Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, Somerset.

Essential experience:

• Proven experience on large-scale construction projects, with expertise in Safe Systems of Work and compliance environments.
• Experience operating at Engineer or Senior Engineer level, delivering high-quality outcomes within multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications:

• HNC qualification or equivalent vocational training and experience in Mechanical and Piping systems.

Security Clearance:

The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain SC security clearance.
