At Cavendish Nuclear, we’re working to create a safe and secure world. Join us as a Construction Engineer - Equipment Installation at the Hinkley Point C nuclear project in Bridgwater, Somerset.

This is an opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the Hinkley Point C Nuclear project, focusing on integrating and coordinating the delivery of main MEH, cabling, and support services for complex installations.

The role

You will support the Equipment Manager in engineering, construction planning, and equipment installation activities, representing the MEH Alliance.

Your responsibilities include delivering Mechanical Equipment Workpacks, demonstrating HSE leadership, and fostering a compliant HS&E culture throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Own and Deliver Work Scope: Manage discipline-specific Construction Work Packs, ensuring high first-time acceptance rates.
  • Drive Documentation Excellence: Maintain compliant, up-to-date documentation aligned with standards and project milestones.
  • Collaborate Across Functions: Liaise with Subject Matter Experts and client counterparts for seamless technical and stakeholder integration.
  • Champion Safety and Improvement: Lead HSE initiatives, uphold safety standards, and contribute to continuous process improvements.

This is a full-time role, 37 hours/week, on a 9-day fortnight rota (Mon–Thurs, 3 days off / Mon–Fri, 2 days off).

Essential experience
  • Experience on major construction projects, with a proven track record in regulated sectors and Safe Systems of Work.
  • Experience installing large equipment (pumps, heat exchangers, turbines, etc.).
Qualifications
  • HNC qualification or equivalent vocational training and experience in installing large machinery.
Security Clearance

The successful candidate must achieve and maintain BPSS clearance.
