At Cavendish Nuclear, we’re working to create a safe and secure world. Join us as a Construction Engineer - Equipment Installation at Hinkley Point C nuclear project in Bridgwater, Somerset.

This is an opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project, focusing on integrating and coordinating the delivery of main MEH, cabling, and support services to ensure seamless installation of cabling, equipment, and pipework.

The role

As a Construction Engineer - Equipment Installation, you will support the Equipment Manager in engineering, construction planning, and equipment installation activities, representing the MEH Alliance.

You will deliver Mechanical Equipment Workpacks, support the programme, and promote a strong HSE culture throughout the project.

• Own and Deliver Work Scope: Deliver discipline-specific Construction Work Packs, ensuring scope definition and high first-time acceptance rates.
• Drive Documentation Excellence: Maintain compliant documentation aligned with standards and review cycles.
• Collaborate Across Functions: Liaise with Subject Matter Experts and stakeholders for technical input and expectations.
• Champion Safety and Improvement: Demonstrate HSE leadership and contribute to safety and process improvements.

This is a full-time role, 37 hours/week, with a 9-day fortnight rota (Mon–Thurs, 3 days off / Mon–Fri, 2 days off).

Essential experience

• Experience on major construction projects in a regulated sector, with knowledge of Safe Systems of Work.
• Experience installing large equipment (pumps, heat exchangers, turbines, etc.).

Qualifications

• HNC or equivalent vocational training and experience in installing large equipment.

Security Clearance

Ability to achieve and maintain BPSS security clearance.
