CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER

Location: Site based - North East

Contract duration: 30 month contract, potential further extensions. Inside IR35 (PAYE / Umbrella)

Role synopsis:

Currently responsible for the design, construction and operation of safe and sustainable complex infrastructure and plants. We are looking for a Construction Engineer who will be responsible for the management of the construction works of large tanks and containers for a Green Hydrogen Project.

Key Accountabilities

• Prioritise and enforce safety protocols and practices throughout the project to minimise risk and ensure a safe working environment.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure construction works meet the required quality standards and specifications.
• Ensure the safe, compliant delivery of activities within the construction/commissioning procedures as per project quality expectations.
• Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure works meet technical specifications.
• Monitor project progress, track milestones, and address delays or deviations to ensure timely completion.
• Support the Construction Manager with budgets for subcontracted works, establish construction budgets, and oversee progress control and reporting.

Education/Experience:

• HNC / HND or equivalent in Engineering such as Civil, Mechanical, or E&I.
• 5+ years of experience in Construction & Commissioning roles.

Essential experience:

• A strong track record in project delivery or supporting complex project management involving Civil Works, Steel Structures, Piping, Reinforced Concrete, Tanks.
• Understanding of industry standards and protocols.

Desirable Experience:

• Cryogenic Tanks.
• Major infrastructure or industrial project experience.
• 5+ years’ experience in mid to large-scale engineering projects.
