Job Description:

The Client:

OXBO is partnering with an international Solar & BESS IPP to build their new Construction team. Due to recent growth following an acquisition by a major investor in Solar & BESS, they are expanding their project delivery team and are seeking a Project Engineer.

This role involves reviewing technical contract documentation, supporting project management, feasibility studies, and technical due diligence.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure project technical solutions meet EPC and EBOP/ICP contract requirements.
• Manage PV specialist consultants, defining scopes of work and interpreting advice.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on solar and BESS projects, providing technical and strategic guidance.
• Facilitate communication between partners and internal teams to optimize project design.
• Assist in preparing tender documentation, ensuring quality and timeliness.
• Participate in contractual negotiations regarding technical specifications and testing schedules.
• Engage with external stakeholders, including consultants, contractors, lenders, government agencies, and utility companies.
• Inspect project sites and attend relevant seminars and meetings.
• Evaluate new products, concepts, and technologies from vendors.

Candidate Profile:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience with large-scale PV solar farms and BESS projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and PVSyst.
• Knowledge of PV development, construction, and related regulations in the UK and Ireland.
• Understanding of PV technology, grid connections, energy yield assessments, and installation procedures.
• Experience in procurement, construction, and commissioning of solar projects.
• Familiarity with UK and Irish design codes, regulations, and safety legislation.
• Ability to translate engineering issues into financial assumptions (CAPEX and OPEX).
