Job summary

Bowdon Associates Ltd is seeking an experienced Construction Director to build and lead the contracting arm of the business in Greater Manchester and Cheshire. The role focuses on delivering client schemes on time and on margin, while winning external contracts with housing associations and local authorities.

This founding role requires strategic board-level capability with hands-on tender writing and bid leadership, plus strong experience in ISO-based systems and a growth mindset.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in growing regional contracting capability.
• Experience delivering public sector or housing association schemes.
• Strong bid/tender leadership across end-to-end processes.
• Experience implementing or running management systems (ISO 9001/14001/45001).

Responsibilities

• Write and own the contracting business plan, including target sectors and turnover mix.
• Lead bids, tenders and quality submissions end to end.
• Deliver systems for H&S, quality, document control and subcontractor onboarding.
• Maintain overall accountability for live sites and programme performance.
• Own the contracting arm's P&L, margin and cash flow forecasting.
