You’ll oversee all aspects of construction operations – including project planning, budgeting, quality assurance, health & safety, and team performance – ensuring every project is delivered on time, to budget, and to the highest standards.

This is a key leadership role within the regional board, offering real influence over business strategy and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee project planning, programme management, and operational delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Work collaboratively with commercial, technical, and sales teams to ensure successful delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement in site safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Report to senior leadership on progress, performance, and risk management.
  • Manage recruitment, development, and performance across the construction team.
  • Provide input into new business opportunities and project feasibility.
About You
  • Proven experience as a Construction Director, Head of Construction, or Operations Director within the housebuilding or residential development sector.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with experience overseeing multiple projects.
  • Excellent understanding of construction methodologies, programming, and commercial performance.
  • Track record of delivering high-quality, safe, and profitable developments.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence at board level.
  • Strong knowledge of JCT contracts and PLC processes.
  • SMSTS, First Aid, and relevant H&S training required.
  • Degree in Construction Management or related field (desirable).
In Return
  • Salary circa £110,000
  • Car Allowance of £7500 or company car option
  • Impressive bonus scheme
  • Up to 33 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Private medical insurance
  • Enhanced maternity and paternity leave
