About the Opportunity
Nuclear Power Programmes are delivering client critical works to some of our major UK and European Projects. Our embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), helping develop technologies in SMR (Small modular Reactor) capability and working towards building Poland's first Nuclear Power station.
The Construction Delivery Group forms part of a fully integrated Site Construction Directorate, whose objective is to facilitate the planning and delivery of the HPC Project as Principal Contractor, meeting the safety, quality, cost, and schedule objectives for the Project.
The NNB ambition is to build two major EPR nuclear plants, and the position will be part of HPC Site Construction Team. Due to the scale of this project, the programme duration and the immovable completion date, the Construction Delivery Lead is required to have experience in delivering large and complex projects under similar constraints.
The CDL - Electrical is responsible for the delivery, coordination, and management of a designated section of the Works. These areas, which will be associated with specific Contracts, will predominately be in the Nuclear Island (NI) of Unit 1 & 2. The NI is split into N1 (HR/HK Buildings), N2 (HL Buildings), and N3 (HQ, HN, HD, and others). These allocated areas will be subject to change to enable an “Agile” approach to the distribution of PC duties throughout the NI on HPC.
This responsibility extends to all construction and related activities including surveillance, logistics, planning and implementation in collaboration with the site-wide logistics team, commercial management, reporting both internally and externally, programming and planning, monitoring and close-out of authorities’ obligations and conditions, client liaison, and staff management.
Management of strategic planning of site setup, construction sequencing, recovery plans, and resource allocation.
The role is looking for an electrical-biased CDL with experience in non-permanent construction power installation.
Good working knowledge of commercial principles affecting construction matters.
Ability to produce informative, concise reports.
Motivational approach and the ability to energise team members by building a climate of trust and understanding.
Considerable working knowledge in the delivery of large complex projects.
Relevant Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering.
Working understanding of the post holder’s obligations under CDM Regulations.
NEBOSH, SMSTS or IOSH qualification holder.
