Job Description:

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly experienced and motivated Contracts Manager to join a leading Tier 1 main contractor to oversee and manage three live projects across the Eastern region. With a turnover of £1bn+ across the UK, our client is renowned for delivering high-quality projects in the commercial, education, leisure, and life science sectors. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of complex and high-profile new build and refurbishment projects, with the initial focus being on a major project based in Enfield.

As the Contracts Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of these projects, working closely with the senior management team, project managers, and subcontractors. You will be responsible for managing the contracts and ensuring compliance with legal, financial, and operational standards. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a highly successful and expanding business with an excellent reputation in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of multiple live projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Manage and supervise the contract lifecycle, including pre-construction, procurement, construction, and post-construction phases.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal, financial, and operational standards.
  • Manage project budgets, including forecasting, cost control, and reporting.
  • Resolve any contractual disputes and mitigate risks across the projects.
  • Work closely with the senior management team to ensure strategic goals and objectives are met.

Key Requirements:

  • Extensive experience as a Contracts Manager with a proven track record in managing multiple live projects within a Tier 1 contractor environment.
  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, project delivery, and the associated legal, financial, and operational aspects.
  • Experience in managing new build and refurbishment projects within the commercial, education, leisure, and life science sectors.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., MRICS, MCIOB) are advantageous.
  • A full UK driving license and flexibility to travel across the Eastern region.
