About the role

By joining our Regional Scotland team as a Construction Carbon Accountant based in Glasgow, you'll work with true experts who'll share their knowledge and provide support, encouragement and invaluable feedback so you never stop learning. What you'll be doing

  • Co-ordinating data input by designers into design stage carbon models, mainly via
    OneClick LCA but using other client specified carbon tools as well.
  • Reviewing design stage models for accuracy, completeness and availability of specified materials.
  • Updating carbon models monthly with as built information to review actual performance against carbon targets.
  • Reviewing any proposed design or material changes to determine the impact on carbon
  • Reporting of carbon data internally and externally to clients and regulators.
  • Benchmarking carbon performance across the region using collated records from a variety of projects.
  • Preparing case studies and sharing of best practice for low carbon solutions and sharing lessons learned where carbon has increased on a project.
  • Maintaining the sustainable options catalogue up to date with current industry
    information on commercially available low carbon materials and
    cost/availability/programme implications.
  • Streamlining the collation of carbon data from the supply chain for actual carbon during the construction stage.
  • Advise project teams on data requirements and collection processes needed for carbon footprinting during the design and construction phases of a project.
  • Working closely with design, construction and procurement teams to help develop
    carbon models that allow carbon to be fully integrated with design and procurement decisions.
Who we're looking for
  • Understanding of design and construction processes.
  • Understanding of BIM models, bills of quantities, engineering drawings and
    specifications.
  • Ability to use OneClick LCA to prepare, interrogate and report carbon footprints for whole life and embodied carbon.
  • Understanding of various carbon standards such as Whole life carbon assessment for the built environment, RICS, PAS208 and the Net Zero Public Sector Building Standard.
  • Ability to source, analyse and review data
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate carbon information to wider teams to allow for efficient,
    sustainable decision making
