Job summary

Cadence Search Ltd is assisting a fast paced residential property development business in seeking a Bookkeeper to join their ambitious team in Luton. You will take ownership of day-to-day bookkeeping and financial administration, working with Head of Commercial and external accountants.

This hands-on role requires construction accounting understanding, accuracy, and proactive problem solving. You'll maintain records, reconcile invoices, prepare weekly payment schedules, and support financial

Qualifications

• Proven bookkeeping experience, ideally in construction or property development.
• Practical CIS administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of Xero and Excel.
• Experience checking weekly payroll or subcontractor payments.
• Ability to reconcile invoices, statements and bank accounts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and current financial records for projects and the company.
• Record purchase/sales invoices, receipts, payments and journals.
• Allocate expenditure to correct project and cost code.
• Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards.
• Prepare weekly payment schedules and CIS returns.
• Support VAT reporting and month-end processes.
