As the successful candidate, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the continued delivery of essential services while safeguarding our environment within the Sewage Treatment Plants.

What you’ll be doing as a Construction Assurance Engineer
  • Supporting essential design and delivery reviews, identifying risks and issues, and working with stakeholders to resolve them.
  • Carrying out health and safety audits to ensure issues are corrected.
  • Assessing and reporting on construction phase progress, rectifying issues, and leading escalation processes. Ensuring all non-conformance is identified and corrected.
  • Managing, identifying, and resolving snags, liaising with operators and contractors post-takeover to handle defects, aftercare, and performance testing.
  • Monitoring, agreeing on, and approving takeover tests with the project team.
  • Ensuring project documentation meets specifications and is approved for takeover.
  • Actively working as part of project teams with contractors.

Work is hybrid at Maple Lodge, requiring on-site presence 3-4 days a week, Monday to Friday, 36 hours/week. The candidate must drive and have a car, with a £4,500 annual car allowance.

What you should bring to the role
  • HNC or above in engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of health and safety on construction sites; SMSTS qualification can be provided if not held.
  • Understanding of design, construction, and operations in wastewater or related sectors.
  • Experience in project delivery within construction.
  • Confidence in stakeholder communication.
