Job summary

Ortus Group is seeking an ambitious Construction Associate in London to handle a diverse caseload across contentious and non-contentious matters. The role offers exposure to adjudications, TCC proceedings, and drafting of key construction documentation, with opportunities for client development in a collaborative, high-performing team.

You will work with experienced partners, manage your own cases, and benefit from a hybrid working model in a leading City practice with excellent progression

Qualifications

• Experience across both contentious and non-contentious construction matters.
• Strong technical knowledge and commercial awareness.
• Experience drafting and negotiating construction documentation.
• Excellent client relationship and communication skills.
• Ability to manage matters efficiently and deliver exceptional client service.
• Interest in business development and networking.
• A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to a growing practice.
• Insurance law experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Applications from City, regional, national or specialist boutique firms welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with partners while managing your own caseload across a broad range of construction matters.
• Advise on contentious matters including adjudications, TCC proceedings, disputes, and delay/extension claims.
• Draft and negotiate non-contentious documents such as JCT contracts, professional appointments, collateral warranties, guarantees and bonds.
• Develop client relationships and contribute to business development within the practice.
• Collaborate with colleagues to deliver high-quality, practical advice across real estate work.
