Job description

NOCN Group is seeking a freelance End Point Assessor with experience in the Construction sector to conduct assessments for the Construction Assembly and Installation Operative apprenticeship standard.

Location: Remote, with travel to sites required

Hours: Worker contract, freelance

Ideal Assessor Background: Roles such as Concrete Finisher or Precast Installer are preferred.

Purpose and Objectives:
  1. Ensure assessments are conducted independently and meet NOCN quality standards.
  2. Complete assessments following the prescribed instruments within the assessment plan.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Assess apprentices against Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours through online tests, observations, questioning, and interviews, supported by their portfolios, in accordance with the assessment plan.
  2. Upload assessment reports promptly, adhering to NOCN's service level agreements.
  3. Prepare for assessments in advance and identify gaps in apprentices' KSBs.
  4. Build rapport with apprentices to facilitate optimal performance.
  5. Maintain up-to-date subject knowledge through ongoing CPD.
  6. Represent NOCN professionally during assessments.
  7. Follow GDPR practices and ensure data security.
Key Requirements:
  1. Essential experience as a Slinger and Signaller.
  2. At least three years of comprehensive experience in construction assembly and installation.
  3. Recent sector experience at a level above that of the apprentice, with evidence of current knowledge and skills, either through recent work or CPD.
  4. Hold or be working towards an assessor qualification such as TAQA, CAVA, or A1.
