Job description

About Our Client

This large independent school in the North West of England has a large and varied site and grounds. They are looking for someone to provide Project Management and facilities management support to start asap until September.

They have a range of building types, from historic, to 1960s and modern construction, and are currently undertaking some major refurbishment works and a large extension. They have teams for grounds, cleaning and estates who are integral to the running of the site, and this role will be responsible across those teams as well as large capital projects.

Job Description

This role will manage a large extension and extensive construction improvements and refurbishment works over the summer period. You will work strategically, liaising with architects and engineers, appointing and managing contractors, requesting quotes and tendering works, as well as managing projects to completion in the role of client. You will manage the day-to-day site FM operations as well, with good support from your experienced team managers.

The Successful Applicant

You will have experience in capital, estates, project management and construction, ideally in an education or related environment. Experience in the commercial, public or charity sector that relates well to this role and building type is also beneficial. A degree or equivalent qualification in construction or facilities, or IOSH / NEBOSH or another equivalent qualification would be an advantage but is not essential. What is essential is a collaborative management style, good knowledge of construction and estates, and project management skills.

What's on Offer

IMMEDIATE START AFTER EASTER HOLIDAYS AVAILABLE.

Please get in touch with your CV asap to apply. The permanent equivalent salary is circa £60,000, so the interim day rate will be paid commensurate to that but will be discussed based on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.

Interviews will take place towards the end of April, and an asap start for construction works to be on site in July would be ideal. The school is working exclusively with Steph McKay for the recruitment of this position. Please give her a call on 0113 243 7734 or 0797 766 7172 to have a confidential discussion about this role.
