Job summary

MOD Heathlands Project Manager (Conservation) at Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust is responsible for the general oversight and operational management of designated MOD project sites, ensuring conservation objectives, contractual commitments, and habitat management programmes are delivered safely and efficiently.

You will manage contractors, coordinate management plans, and lead capital works while supervising key staff.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating management plans across multiple sites.
• Strong contract oversight and contractor management.
• Budgeting and financial planning within conservation projects.
• Proven leadership and people-management abilities.
• Experience with livestock welfare and grazing planning is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the review and implementation of management plans across MOD sites, ensuring conservation objectives and contractual obligations are met.
• Lead major infrastructure and capital works programmes from planning through delivery across MOD sites.
• Provide direct line management of the Reserves Officer (MOD North) and Heathland Officer (MOD North).
• Oversee day-to-day livestock welfare on MOD sites and support grazing plans adherence.
