Job summary

Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust is seeking an MOD Heathlands Project Manager to oversee designated MOD sites, ensuring conservation objectives are met, contractual commitments and habitat management programmes are delivered within budget.

You will coordinate management plans, lead infrastructure projects, manage contractors and line-manage the Reserves Officer and Heathland Officer, while supporting livestock welfare and engaging with MOD, DIO and partners.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to coordinate management plans across multiple MOD sites and ensure conservation objectives are met.
• Experience in procurement, supervision, and contractor performance management within budgets and timescales.
• Ability to lead infrastructure and capital works programmes from planning to delivery and manage site operations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate review and implementation of management plans across MOD sites, ensuring conservation objectives and contractual obligations are met.
• Lead major infrastructure and capital works programmes across MOD sites, supervising projects from planning through to delivery and completion.
• Direct line management of the Reserves Officer (MOD North) and Heathland Officer (MOD North) with performance oversight.
• Oversee day-to-day welfare of livestock on MOD sites, aligning with grazing plans and HIWWT grazing team support.
