Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking an experienced Connectivity CPE Architect to lead the technical work stream for a next-generation Wi‑Fi gateway and home connectivity programme. You will define CPE architecture, specify requirements and run RFI/RFP processes with suppliers.

The role is based in the UK with hybrid working (2 days per week) and a contract through June 2027, paying up to £830/day via Umbrella. You will collaborate with Product, Procurement and Engineering leadership to drive selections

Qualifications

• Recent consumer CPE experience required.
• Experience with RFI/RFP and supplier selection.
• Knowledge of RDK-B, OpenWRT, DOCSIS, XGS-PON or similar tech.

40 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Define CPE architecture, technical specifications and requirements.
• Lead technical RFI/RFP and supplier evaluation activities.
• Assess CPE OEM and silicon vendor proposals.
• Lead supplier workshops and technical PoCs.
• Develop technical scoring, compliance matrices and recommendations.
• Work closely with Product, Procurement, Engineering and Technology leadership.

Essential Experience

• Strong recent consumer/residential CPE experience.
• Broadband gateways, home routers, mesh/Wi‑Fi devices.
• Strong Wi‑Fi 6/7 knowledge; Wi‑Fi 8 desirable.
• Experience with CPE OEMs / silicon vendors.
• RFI/RFP and supplier selection experience.
• Knowledge of RDK-B, OpenWRT, DOCSIS, XGS-PON or similar technologies.

Important: Generic Network, Cloud or Infrastructure Architects without recent consumer CPE experience will not be suitable.
