Job summary

The Scc is seeking an experienced Confluent Kafka Presales Engineer in London for a 4-month hybrid contract, paying £900/day via Umbrella. You will combine deep Kafka expertise with customer-facing consulting to design enterprise cloud/data solutions.

Responsibilities include leading workshops, delivering PoCs, and producing viable proposals while acting as SME for Confluent Cloud/Platform. Strong stakeholder skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with Kafka-based data streaming architectures.
• Proven presales or solutions-role experience in enterprise tech.
• Ability to design enterprise cloud/data solutions for complex needs.
• Strong knowledge of EDA, microservices and distributed systems.
• Excellent stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.
• Ability to translate business needs into technical designs.
• Relevant Confluent/AWS/Azure/GCP certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer discovery sessions and technical workshops.
• Design Confluent/Kafka-based solutions aligned to requirements.
• Deliver technical demos, PoCs, and architecture discussions.
• Produce solution designs, ROM estimates, and bid docs.
• Act as SME for Confluent Cloud/Platform and Kafka tech.
• Advise on event-driven architectures and cloud migration.
• Collaborate with sales, cloud, data, and AI teams throughout the cycle.
