Job description

Why join us?

DWF is seeking a conflict data analyst to join our team. You will deliver accurate, timely and compliant conflict search results, helping fee earners to determine when we should not act due to a conflict of interest, duty of confidentiality or commercial conflict. This role involves working closely with local file-opening teams to expedite new clients and new matter intake.

We are looking for someone who is interested in working with new business inception processes. Any previous experience within a law firm is welcomed, but not essential.

This role is on a hybrid basis in our Manchester office.


Responsibilities

  • Working knowledge of SRA and Law Society requirements for Conflict Search
  • Able to design and run database searches appropriate for the complexity and business risk presented by the matter/parties under investigation
  • Able to use simple query-type syntax to interrogate the Analyze conflict search history database
  • Able to execute logical, data-based analysis and interpret data
  • Possess the ability to determine whether adequate information is present to permit a robust conflict decision to be made and make recommendations to accept or decline business
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office applications (specifically Excel and/or Access)
  • Ability to deliver clear and concise written and verbal reports
  • Maintains knowledge of market developments acquiring the necessary skills to meet new demands in service delivery

Essential

  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office products
  • Strong communication skills and a desire to assist others

Desirable

  • Evidence of ability in data handling and manipulation
  • Demonstrable experience in managing SLAs
  • Experience in database interrogation and analysis
  • Worked as Paralegal, Senior Paralegal, AML Compliance officer, Database Analyst or similar role
  • Experience working in New Business Inception processes
  • Experience in a Law firm
