Configuration Manager/Engineer - Defence Projects

Location: Greater London (on-site 3 days per week)
Contract: Outside IR35
Rate: Negotiable

We\'re supporting a leading consultancy seeking an experienced Configuration Manager/Engineer to join their established team in Greater London. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile and technically complex engineering programmes.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate configuration management activities across major engineering projects.
  • Ensure all configuration data, baselines, and documentation are controlled and compliant with standards.
  • Support planning, reviews, and audits to maintain quality and consistency.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project, and quality teams to drive best practice in configuration management.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of configuration processes, tools, and governance.
About You
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Configuration Management or related engineering discipline.
  • Proven background in defence, aerospace, or maritime environments.
  • Strong understanding of configuration standards (e.g., Defence Standard 05-057).
  • Experience leading configuration activities on complex projects.
  • Confident working within structured engineering and quality frameworks.
Additional Requirements
  • Sole British National (required for security purposes).
  • SC clearance preferred (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Ability to attend the Greater London site 3 days per week.
