Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and motivated ConfigurationEngineerto join our proactive and innovative team.
This role will provide holistic lifecycle Systems Engineering support to replenish activities within the customers program.
This role requires a systems thinking mindset and the application of these methods, approaches, tools and techniques.
Responsibilities
- Configuration Management functions including product change management, planning, identification, status account and verification.
- The role requires the engineer to provide support to both existing and future development programmes along with the configuration management (CM) requirements, including but not limited to:
- Identifying technical problems and applying/integrating solutions.
- Identifying improvements and support the creation of work instructions, procedures, technical manuals, and guidelines.
- Supporting the creation of technical solutions against customer requirements; input to bids and proposals within assigned programmes/projects.
- Acting as the configuration management support to the CM function on nominated programmes.
- Facilitating and maintaining Change Control Boards (CCB’s).
- Processing Engineering Coordination Memo (“ECM’s”).
- Creating and maintaining the CM plan(s) within the assigned programmes.
- Management of the product data in the PLM system.
- Supporting or generating test specifications/plans and/or alternate means of compliance (analysis/similarity) as required to demonstrate design solution complies with certification requirements.
- Supporting technical and customer reviews, including formal gate reviews; the creation and preparation of technical data and presentations of product design.
- Supporting the release of engineering design data and customer release data.
Qualifications
- BEng or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline (Electronic Engineering, Electrical and Electronic, or Communications).
Essential skills
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrate a good level of technical problem solving skills
- Demonstrate an understanding and awareness of the importance of safety within the industry.
- Ability to act under own initiative in relation to the assigned tasks within defined functional procedures / governance
- Ability to describe technical information of a technical task to a wide audience within the engineering business
- Ability to hold technical discussions with customers and suppliers as required
- Model based engineering techniques, including MBSE
Proven experience in Holistic Life Cycle Management with balanced competencies across the SE Discipline
- Experience: 5+ years’ experience in system engineering activities and proven experience with supporting customers’ requirements.
- Technical/Specialized knowledge: With technical programmes of work.
- Relevant engineering/systems engineering experience ISO 15228 or similar
Experience of a range of delivery methods (waterfall, lean, agile, DevOps, etc.)
- Practitioner in Determining and Managing Stakeholder Requirements, Life Cycle Tailoring, Verification, Validation and Transition to Operation.
A good understanding of cross domain and cross boundary requirements and interface.
Desired skills
- Familiarisation with Model Based Systems Engineering (EA Sparx).
- Familiarisation with DOORS Requirements Management software.
- Familiarisation with Product Lifecycle Management software
