Leading Public Sector focused events business seeks a highly talented senior conference producer to produce compelling B2B events as well as manage a team of junior conference producers.
The role involves producing and managing high‑quality and commercially attractive content across their portfolio of virtual and physical B2B conference and expo events. You will also be responsible for managing and developing a team of junior conference producers.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide direction, coaching and performance management to a team of three junior conference producers to help them successfully deliver the conference business plan and drive best practice within the team.
- Work with the Head of Conferences & Event Operations to create and maintain the conference schedule of over 100 conferences.
- Lead research to identify potential ideas and improvements that will define the future of our conferences and look at expanding into new territories.
- Develop our portfolio of event offerings.
- Create comprehensive programmes with formats that produce best‑in‑class conference experiences and engagement.
- Maintain and develop long‑standing relationships with industry‑leading organisations, new and existing senior executives across the Public, Private and Voluntary Sectors.
- Review processes and KPIs across the team.
- Manage recruitment for the team as and when required.
Experience Required
- Some experience of managing others; formal line management experience not required – matrix management suffices.
- Strong conference production experience – 3+ years.
- Strong interest and/or understanding of government and public sector policy.
- Excellent organisational and time‑management skills with the ability to multi‑task effectively.
- Excellent written (including copywriting) and oral communication skills.
- Creativity, a passion for research and motivation with the ability to work collaboratively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are essential, as the role involves regular interaction with external partners and speakers as well as with internal staff members. The ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships is key to success in this position.
