Senior Conference Producer -Life Sciences

Salary - Negotiable including bonus scheme

Location - London /Hybrid

Job Overview:

The Life Sciences Conference Producer is responsible for the end-to-end development and management of conferences, summits, and forums within the life sciences sector. This includes conducting in-depth market research, conceptualizing event agendas, securing high-profile speakers, collaborating with marketing and sales teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of the event. The role requires a strong understanding of the life sciences industry (pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, healthcare, etc.) and excellent organizational, communication, and analytical skills.

Conference Producer Key Responsibilities:

  1. Research & Content Development:
    • Conduct extensive market research to identify trends, emerging topics, and industry challenges within the life sciences sector.
    • Analyze competitor events and understand audience needs to develop commercially viable and highly engaging conference agendas.
    • Research potential topics, themes, and speakers that will resonate with target audiences.
    • Liaise with industry leaders, stakeholders, and advisory boards to validate and refine conference topics.
  2. Agenda & Speaker Development:
    • Develop and structure conference agendas, ensuring they are content-driven and relevant to the target audience.
    • Identify and invite high-profile speakers, including thought leaders, industry experts, and key decision-makers from the life sciences industry.
    • Build relationships with speakers and ensure they are well-prepared for their participation.
  3. Event Management:
    • Collaborate with the events team to ensure smooth logistical execution of the event.
    • Oversee the development of event materials such as brochures, websites, and marketing collateral.
    • Work closely with the marketing and sales teams to ensure effective event promotion to the right audience.
    • Manage the event on the day, supporting speakers and delegates, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring high-quality delivery.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Build strong relationships with industry professionals, sponsors, partners, and exhibitors to ensure the conference's success.
    • Act as the key point of contact for all conference-related queries, including from speakers, sponsors, and delegates.
    • Develop post-conference reports, analyse feedback, and delegate attendance and financial performance to inform future event planning.
  5. Budget & Financial Management:
    • Develop event budgets and ensure all activities are delivered within agreed financial parameters.
    • Track and manage event revenue and expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities while maximizing profitability.
  6. Project Management:
    • Manage the conference production lifecycle, including timelines, key milestones, and deliverables.
    • Coordinate cross-functional teams (marketing, operations, sales) to ensure that all aspects of the event align with the overall business objectives.

Key Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Event Management, Marketing, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

Conference Producer Experience:

  • 2-5 years of experience in conference production, ideally within the life sciences, healthcare, or pharmaceutical sectors.
  • Proven track record in managing and producing successful B2B conferences or summits.
  • Strong life sciences industry knowledge, including key trends, challenges, and major players.

Skills:

  • Excellent market research and analytical skills to identify relevant industry topics and trends.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to network and liaise with senior industry stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams (marketing, sales, operations).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management software (e.g., Asana, Trello), and CRM tools.
