Conference and Events Duty Manager - The Kia Oval | Full-Time / Permanent

We're seeking a confident and organised Conference and Events Duty Manager to join our collaborative team at The Kia Oval - the iconic home of Surrey County Cricket Club and one of the best conference venues in London!

In this fast-paced role, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth running of all conference and events catering, hospitality, and bar operations, ensuring exceptional service and attention to detail across match day and non-match day conferences and events.

Conference and Events Duty Manager - the role

1. Overseeing the planning and delivery of all Conference and Events operations, ensuring exceptional service and attention to detail across every event.
2. Collaborating with the Sales team and creating a welcoming environment on-site for clients and guests.
3. Partnering with the Culinary team to maintain outstanding food presentation and service standards.
4. Leading weekly function sheet meetings to align internal teams on event plans.
5. Using your positive leadership style to manage and train the Events Team including producing staff rotas in collaboration with the Head of Conference and Events.
6. Coordinating with the Kia Oval reception team to ensure event signage, paperwork, and administrative materials are prepared and distributed in advance.
7. Monitoring till operations, overseeing bar closures, and ensuring the secure handling of cash and stock.
8. Overseeing all catering setups, working closely with the hospitality logistics team to ensure conferences and events are set according to function sheets and SOPs.
9. Maintaining stock levels and ensuring all catering equipment is in good working order, arranging repairs or replacements as needed.

4. Excellent communication skills and a background in developing meaningful client relationships
5. A keen eye for detail and a love of organisation - managing multiple priorities
6. Due to the nature of this role, we're looking for someone who is able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and match days
