Job Description
Making decisions and providing professional advice on the enforcement of Planning Legislation, with a specific focus on planning conditions in accordance with agreed objectives.
Requirements
- Drafting recommendations and taking action on breaches of planning conditions and associated enforcement cases.
- Carrying out effective negotiations to achieve compliance with planning conditions and other related breaches of planning control.
- Drafting recommendations to Committee in accordance with the Enforcement Charter.
- Responding to work that has commenced on-site and the completion of works, working closely with Transportation to address Highway Safety breaches in rural areas.
- Collaborating with case Planning Officers and colleagues to resolve condition breaches.
- Preparing planning appeal and court submissions on behalf of the Council.
- Contributing to the effectiveness of the service.
The Individual
- Experience of working in a Development Management Team.
- Previous experience of investigation and research work.
- General understanding of Local Government issues.
- HNC Qualification in Built Environment or related discipline.
- High level of personal initiative and ability to work independently.
- Diplomacy and effective communication skills with a wide range of customers.
- Excellent negotiation and time management skills.
- Good oral, written communication, and numeracy skills.
- Analytical abilities and research skills.

Starting Salary: £37,209.90 per annum (pro-rata)
£19.74 per hour
