Job description

Are You Ready to Measure the World Differently?

Do you thrive on precision, but hate bureaucracy? Are you the kind of person who gets a thrill from watching a bridge breathe, a building shift, or a 100-year-old structure come back to life — all because of data you captured?

We’re not looking for just a Monitoring Surveyor.
We’re looking for a curious mind, a calm problem-solver, and someone who sees innovation where others see limits. Someone who’s excited to work in a place where "That’s how we’ve always done it" is a phrase you’ll never hear.

If that’s you — keep reading.

So, What’s This Role Really About?

At Structural Repairs, we do things differently. We scan, test, and monitor some of the UK’s most critical (and often most fragile) infrastructure — and then use that intel to extend its life, prevent collapse, and save millions in rebuild costs. We’ve worked on everything from heritage sites to cutting-edge innovation with Network Rail and Royal Holloway.

As a Monitoring Surveyor, you’ll be setting up and managing next-gen monitoring systems that literally save structures — and lives.

You’ll ask the questions no one else does:

  • What’s shifting under the surface?
  • Why is that crack getting worse?
  • What happens if we don’t act now?

And then you’ll deliver answers using the best tech in the game: total stations, LiDAR (UAV & terrestrial), vibration and tilt sensors, automated dashboards — all backed by a UKAS-accredited lab and one of the most forward-thinking structural repair teams in Europe.

Ask Yourself...

  • Do you want to be part of a team that’s pushing the boundaries of structural monitoring?
  • Would you get excited about scanning a disused viaduct one day and monitoring high-speed rail the next?
  • Are you someone who wants to innovate and be trusted to own your space?
  • Can you turn complex data into a clear, visual story for clients who need to act fast?

What You’ll Actually Do

  • Set up and run total station monitoring systems — sometimes in the rain, always with purpose.
  • Capture LiDAR data (terrestrial and UAV) to create stunning 3D models and visualisations.
  • Deploy a range of sensors — vibration, tilt, crack gauges — and integrate the data into meaningful dashboards.
  • Analyse and interpret trends in structural movement — then communicate that to decision-makers.
  • Keep equipment accurate and calibrated (because close enough isn't good enough).
  • Collaborate with engineers, PMs, clients, and sometimes drones.

What You’ll Need

  • Strong experience with total stations and related software (Leica, Trimble, Topcon — you tell us).
  • Experience with LiDAR surveying and point cloud processing (UAV certification a bonus).
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools — tilt sensors, crack meters, vibration monitors.
  • Data-obsessed mindset with the ability to translate technical outputs into clear insights.
  • A full UK driving licence — and willingness to travel (and occasionally work nights/weekends).
  • A CSCS card — or a willingness to get one (we’ll help).
  • A sense of humour, a dose of ambition, and the drive to do work that matters.

What You’ll Get from Us

  • £42,000–£50,000 salary, depending on experience and what you bring to the table.
  • A company vehicle (or allowance), pension, and paid holiday.
  • The chance to work on high-profile projects that get national attention.
  • Training in the latest monitoring and scanning technologies.
  • A hybrid setup from our Windsor HQ, with trust and flexibility baked in.
  • A team who’s just as passionate about fixing structures as they are about making the industry better.

Ready to Join a Movement?

We’re not a boring surveying company. We’re a company solving one of the UK’s biggest hidden crises — failing infrastructure — and doing it with cutting-edge tech, a sense of adventure, and a deep sense of purpose.

If you’re excited by the idea of making buildings safer, smarter, and longer-lasting — let’s talk.

Apply now — or send us a video telling us why you’re the one.
This isn’t just a job. It’s a mission.

Who We Are – Structural Repairs Ltd

We’re not just another construction or surveying firm — we’re on a mission to extend the life of the world’s buildings and infrastructure.

At Structural Repairs, we combine cutting-edge technology, bold thinking, and relentless curiosity to uncover hidden defects that others miss — and then turn that insight into action. From scanning century-old bridges to stabilising critical rail infrastructure to innovating with carbon fibre, structural resin, and automated monitoring, we’re rewriting the rulebook on how buildings are protected, repaired, and futureproofed.

We’ve built the UK’s first approved RAAC concrete repair system (with Network Rail), we’ve been called in when £400M rebuilds were on the table — and delivered a full recovery for a fraction of the cost. We work with major clients like Shell, Hilton, Network Rail, Royal Holloway, and even Parliament.

Our team includes engineers, surveyors, drone pilots, data specialists, and people who are just obsessed with solving the big problems that keep buildings standing.

What Sets Us Apart

  • Innovation-first mindset – If it’s not cutting-edge, we’re not interested.
  • Deep expertise + R&D – We don’t just do the work — we develop the methods.
  • We find what others miss – Our scanning and testing is forensic, our monitoring predictive.
  • Sustainability through longevity – We believe extending a structure’s life is the greenest solution of all.
  • No fluff, just results – We don’t waffle. We investigate, act, and deliver.

The Culture

Fast-paced, passionate, hands-on. We're a company where no two days are the same — and that's exactly how we like it. You’ll be surrounded by curious minds, tech-forward thinkers, and problem-solvers who thrive under pressure and believe they can make the world better one structure at a time.

There’s no red tape, no box-ticking. Just a shared mission to do meaningful work with people who give a damn.
