Climax is a leading independent game developer known for top published titles, located in the heart of Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth, overlooking the harbour.

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated concept artist with at least two years of studio experience to join our award-winning art team. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in photo bashing and capable of conceptualizing monsters, beasts, characters, and environments, as well as illustrating new assets for AAA games.

Requirements

• Excellent understanding of form and function
• Strong eye for composition, lighting, and color theory
• Ability to collaborate with design and production teams
• Proficiency in creating compelling characters and environmental art that reflect our game's quality
• Capability to handle multiple projects and produce concept art ranging from stylized to photorealistic
• Exceptional illustration skills for effective concept and sketch art
• Self-motivated with a willingness to contribute across various areas of game development
• Passion for video games and world-building
• Solid knowledge of Photoshop
• Experience with grey/white box drawing over development
• Portfolio demonstrating strong concept art skills
• Comprehensive understanding of all aspects of concept art
• Strong traditional drawing skills and versatility in multiple styles
