Job summary

TipTopJob is recruiting for Secondary Computing Teachers to support schools near Royston across Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire. Roles range from day-to-day cover to long-term placements, with KS3/KS4 emphasis and occasional KS5 opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging, structured Computer Science and ICT lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, fostering digital literacy, programming skills, and computational thinking.

Create a positive, safe, and productive classroom environment using effective behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.

Adapt learning delivery to accommodate students with diverse learning styles and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Leave clear handover notes for regular class teachers when fulfilling day:to:day cover assignments.

For long:term roles: plan, assess, and mark work, participate in department meetings, and contribute to parents evenings as required.

What We Look For

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS (or recognised UK teaching qualification).

Strong classroom management skills and the confidence to step into unfamiliar secondary settings with ease.

Specialist subject knowledge in Computing, Computer Science, or ICT across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

An adaptable, punctual, and professional approach with excellent communication skills.

A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to complete one).
