Job summary

University of Sunderland is recruiting a Learning and Development Coach in Computing to support apprentices throughout their workplace programme and ensure high-quality learning aligned to Apprenticeship Standards.

You will collaborate with apprentices, employers and academic colleagues to develop technical competence and professional progression in a dynamic, higher education setting. This fixed-term post runs for 18 months.

Qualifications

• Specialist knowledge of Computer Science principles and their application to workplace learning.
• Ability to support learners in applying technical knowledge to real-world scenarios and professional practice.
• Ability to apply professional judgement in identifying learning needs and adapting approaches.
• Understanding of current industry practices, tools, and technologies relevant to computing.

Responsibilities

• Support apprentices throughout their programme of study within the workplace, ensuring a high-quality learning experience.
• Collaborate with employers and academic colleagues to align learning with Apprenticeship Standards and programme requirements.
• Apply specialist computing knowledge to develop learners' workplace competencies.
• Contribute to the development of technical competence in a workplace context.
