Role Overview: Computer Science Mentor

Time: 14:45pm to 16:45pm, 3 to 5 days per week

Pay: £15 an hour

Suitable for: Undergraduates or Graduates

Location: Primary Schools in Oldham & Rochdale

Are you currently studying an undergraduate degree that has taught you skills beyond MS Office, such as programming, 3D design, website design, and digital animation?

Would you enjoy sharing your knowledge and inspiring children aged 5–12 years old?

i-teachers are supporting schools in Oldham and Rochdale in finding inspirational, tech-savvy Computer Science Mentors for part-time work during term time.

Computer Science Mentor: Role Overview
  • Leading 1:1 and small group sessions
  • Teaching children aged 5–12
  • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 14:45–16:45 (term time only)
  • Skills: Ability to engage children, classroom management, computer literacy
  • Training and detailed lesson plans provided
  • Location: Rochdale and Oldham primary schools (car access preferred)
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Qualifications: Undergraduate or graduate studying a related degree
  • Skills required: Good understanding of MS Office, programming, 3D design, website design, digital animation
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children
  • Attributes: Ability to work independently, confident classroom management, passion for the subject

Primary schools recognize the importance of tech in children's lives and future careers. New projects are funded to enhance tech skills and interest from an early age. In this role, you can influence children's aspirations and bring joy to learning. Flexibility around days is available, ideally 5 to 8 hours a week.
