Computer Science Teacher - Secondary School (Southampton)

Are you a passionate, inspirational, and experienced Computer Science Teacher looking for a new opportunity from September?

Prospero Teaching is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Computer Science Teacher to support the learning of pupils in one of our forward-thinking Secondary Schools in Southampton on a full-time, long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to inspire students in a rapidly evolving subject and make a lasting impact on their academic journey and future careers.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, informative lessons that spark curiosity and promote digital literacy
  • Stretch and challenge learners of all abilities, fostering computational thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Build strong relationships with pupils and support staff to create a collaborative learning environment
  • Manage classroom behaviour in a consistent, positive manner
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including SEND and EAL pupils
  • Use varied assessment methods to monitor progress and inform future planning
  • Display high levels of enthusiasm, energy, and professionalism in the classroom
  • Work effectively with Teaching Assistants and colleagues to ensure students receive the best possible educational experience

Experience/Qualifications and Requirements
  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching Computer Science at secondary level in the UK
  • Strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 curriculum
  • Experience in planning, delivering, and assessing lessons
  • Ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with students and staff
  • A genuine passion for technology and education
  • Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service preferred, but not essential)
