About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Computer Science Teacher to join our vibrant, high-achieving secondary school in Tonbridge. This full-time, permanent role offers an exciting opportunity to inspire the next generation of tech leaders and work with a talented and motivated student body. As a Computer Science Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and innovative lessons, promoting excellence in learning, and fostering a passion for technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Delivering a dynamic and inspiring Computer Science provision to students across KS3, KS4, and KS5.
  2. Supporting students to reach high levels of skill and success in Computer Science.
  3. Considering the school's 'Pure Potential' belief and how this can be interpreted and applied within the Computer Science Department to encourage growth and achievement.
  4. Developing and implementing creative and effective pedagogical approaches to Computer Science, ensuring that lessons are both engaging and academically rigorous.
  5. Providing support and guidance to students to help them achieve their full potential.
  6. Contributing to the development of the Computer Science curriculum.
  7. Assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback.
  8. Collaborating with colleagues to enhance the teaching and learning experience.
  9. Engaging in professional development to stay current with the latest trends and advancements in Computer Science education.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  2. A degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
  3. Strong knowledge of the national curriculum for Computer Science.
  4. Experience of teaching Computer Science in a secondary school setting, preferably at GCSE and A-Level.
  5. A passion for technology and teaching, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
  6. DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Check.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  8. A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
  9. Experience with coding languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
  10. Familiarity with the latest trends in computing and digital literacy.
  11. A record of strong student outcomes and a commitment to academic excellence.
