Full-Time Computer Science Teacher

Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire
Start Date: May half term/September 2025
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: Competitive Pay to scale

About the Role:

We are looking for a passionate and innovative Computer Science Teacher to join a vibrant, forward-thinking secondary school in St Albans. If you’re excited about teaching the next generation of tech leaders and shaping the future of young minds, this is the role for you!

You’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality lessons to Key Stage 3, 4, and 5 students, inspiring them to pursue their interests in technology and coding, while developing their critical thinking skills. You’ll be part of a dynamic team that’s committed to excellence and student achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lesson Planning & Delivery: Develop and deliver engaging, creative lessons across Key Stage 3, 4, and 5 in line with the curriculum.
  • Curriculum Design: Help shape a challenging and forward-thinking Computer Science curriculum.
  • Student Engagement: Motivate students through interactive lessons and extracurricular activities focused on technology.
  • Assessment: Track student progress, provide constructive feedback, and work with colleagues to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Continuous Development: Stay up to date with the latest trends in technology and Computer Science education to ensure the curriculum is relevant and effective.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in Computer Science, ICT, or a related field.
  • Experience: Experience teaching Computer Science at Key Stage 4 and 5 (NQTs are welcome to apply).
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of Computer Science concepts including programming, algorithms, and databases.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire students.
  • Passion: A genuine enthusiasm for technology and teaching students about the digital world.
  • Team Player: Collaborative approach to working within the department and across the school.
