  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons in computer science and related IT subjects.
  • Plan and assess student progress, ensuring academic standards are met.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and course planning.
  • Provide academic and pastoral support to learners, helping them achieve their goals.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, professional development, and quality assurance activities.

Requirements:

  • A degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or a closely related field.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (e.g. PGCE, Cert Ed) or willingness to obtain one.
  • Strong subject knowledge, particularly in programming languages (e.g. Python, Java), web development, and computer systems.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • A passion for education and supporting learners from diverse backgrounds.

Experience:

  • Prior experience teaching in a further education or higher education setting is highly desirable.
  • Industry experience in computing or IT is an advantage, especially where it enhances your teaching.
  • Experience with blended and digital learning tools (e.g. Moodle, MS Teams) is beneficial.
