We are seeking a Computational Engineering Solver Developer to join our Turbomachinery team and focus on the development of advanced numerical solvers for our simulation software suite. This position will focus on developing one or more of the following solver types: 0D-1D thermodynamic and fluid-thermal calculation methods, 3D CFD solvers, or structural analysis solvers to enhance the performance and capabilities of our turbomachinery design and analysis tools.
Responsibilities:
Design and implement high-performance numerical solvers in one or more of the following areas:
0D-1D thermodynamic and fluid-thermal calculations
3D Computational Fluid Dynamics
Structural analysis and mechanics
Develop efficient algorithms to solve complex engineering problems within turbomachinery applications
Optimize existing solver code for improved accuracy, stability, and computational efficiency
Integrate developed solvers into the company’s turbomachinery design systems
Create appropriate validation test cases and verification protocols for solver accuracy
Collaborate with turbomachinery experts to translate engineering requirements into solver capabilities
Research and implement state-of-the-art numerical methods for computational efficiency
Document solver methodologies, algorithms, and implementation details
Requirements:
Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Computational Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
2+ years of experience in developing numerical solvers for engineering applications
Strong programming skills in C# / Python / C++
Advanced knowledge in at least one of the following areas:
1D fluid-thermal calculation algorithms using implicit schemes
CFD methods, turbulence models, and numerical schemes
Structural analysis and finite element methods
Proficiency in numerical methods, including finite element, finite volume, finite , and iterative solvers
Solid understanding of software development practices (OOP, SOLID) and version control systems (Git)
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
