The Sainsbury Laboratory (TSL) invites applications for a dynamic bioinformatics/computational biology/data science focused scientist to join our team. You will design and execute computational biology experiments, work with high throughput sequencing, genomics and proteomics data, and contribute to software tools and pipelines.

You will collaborate with the Head of Bioinformatics, develop training workshops, and help teach MSc courses.

Competenze

• PhD in bioinformatics/computational biology or related field.
• Strong Python or R programming skills.
• Experience with high-performance computing clusters.
• Knowledge of genomics techniques: assembly, SNP calling, and transcriptomics.
• Ability to produce reproducible analyses and pipelines (e.g. Snakemake).

Mansioni

• Design and execute computational biology and data science experiments in collaboration with lab scientists.
• Develop and deliver short training workshops and lectures.
• Develop analyses and pipelines and contribute to software tools for the group.
• Collaborate with the Head of Bioinformatics and other scientists across projects.
