Job Description

Service Engineer / Field Service Technician / Installation Engineer required to join a leading compressed air supplier and manufacturer. The successful candidate will provide electrical and mechanical repair, service, and maintenance on compressed air equipment at customer sites across the Northwest of the UK. Full product training will be provided.

The ideal candidate will have a background in electrical and/or mechanical engineering related to compressors, filtration, pneumatics, hydraulics, nitrogen generators, pipework, vacuum pumps, vacuum systems, valves, rotating equipment, or similar compressed air-related equipment.

Package: £32,000–£38,000 depending on experience

Role Responsibilities:
  1. Provide electrical and mechanical repair, service, and maintenance of compressed air equipment at customer sites.
  2. Undertake planned and preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and fault-finding on compressed air systems, vacuum pumps, blowers & dryers, nitrogen generators, and other products.
  3. Maintain, repair, and install air compressors, vacuum pumps, blowers & dryers, nitrogen generators, and other compressed air and pneumatic equipment across the Northwest of the UK.
  4. Install compressed air/water & nitrogen pipelines into various manufacturing industries.
  5. Perform emergency breakdown fault-finding and repairs on compressed air equipment.
  6. Liaise with various engineering departments.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Proven diagnostic skills on complex electrical/mechanical systems.
  • Experience as a Field Service Engineer, Service Engineer, Service Technician, Installation Engineer, Compressor Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, M&E Engineer, or similar.
  • Ability to maintain good professional relationships with customers.
  • Good knowledge of three-phase electrics and controls is advantageous.
  • Field servicing background in compressors, filtration, pneumatics, hydraulics, nitrogen generators, pipework, vacuum pumps, vacuum systems, valves, pumps, motors, rotating equipment, and capital equipment is advantageous. Training will be provided.
  • A technical mechanical/electrical/electronic/instrumentation qualification (apprentice trained, HNC, HND, or Degree) would be advantageous.
  • Home-based, willing to travel.
