They’re now looking for a composite structures specialist to lead on all things structural within their growing team.

The Role

This is an opportunity to take ownership of composite structural design projects, working alongside a multidisciplinary team of naval architects, design engineers, stylists, and systems engineers. With a diverse and exciting portfolio of vessels, this role offers the chance to see your work through from concept to delivery.

Responsibilities:

1. Structural design and analysis of advanced composite components.
2. Producing engineering calculations and high-quality structural drawings.
3. Staying up to date with the latest in FEA methods and composite analysis tools.
4. Weight optimisation and continuous improvement of existing components.
5. Collaborating with production teams to refine and develop manufacturable designs.
6. Leading engineering projects from initial concept through to delivery.
7. Providing technical guidance and mentoring junior team members.
8. Producing clear and concise technical documentation and reports.

Requirements:

1. BEng in Engineering, ideally with a focus on composites, naval architecture, or mechanical engineering.
2. Minimum 4 years’ experience in marine composite structural design, including familiarity with production methods.
3. Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
4. Ability to produce clear technical drawings and communicate solutions effectively.
5. Solid understanding of composite FEA tools and design software.

Desirable:

1. MSc in composite materials or structural engineering.
