Marshall Advanced Composites based in North Yorkshire are currently looking to recruit Composite Operators due to an expansion of workload.

Purpose of the position

The purpose of the role is to ensure that the customer receives a high-quality product in line with process and product specification. The role will support all stages of the manufacturing process where appropriate but will primarily be focused on the manufacture of a product from instructions from cloth cutting stage to assembly in accordance with health and safety regulations and process instructions.

Accountability:

The role is accountable for the integrity of products delivered to customers.

For working in and creating a safe environment and adhering to all health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities:

Safety – to use and maintain tools and equipment safely and in line with instructions, create a safety culture.

Quality – to produce product to the required standard and to complete accurately and timely all documentation associated with the manufacturing process.

Cost – to work in line with standard hours and avoid unnecessary waste, organise activities to maximise productivity

Delivery – to work in accordance to deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.

People – to work in accordance with company values and support colleagues when needed

Continuous Improvement – to identify and report any opportunities for improvement and be adaptable to change.

Tasks:

Cloth Cutting: To understand material properties and efficiently cut a particular cloth to size.

Cloth Laminating: To use the appropriate technique and cloth to laminate a variety of products using monolithic or sandwich structures.

Infusion – To set up and resin infuse products, where appropriate.

Bagging / Consolidation: To ensure, when used that full vacuum integrity is achieved to withstand positive pressure in autoclave / oven cure process.

Trimming: To use hand tools to trim and drill composite materials to jigs and hand marking out from drawings.

Assembly: To assemble products or details using mechanical fasteners and paste adhesives.

Tool strip / release: To prepare a tool for manufacture and release part from the tool ensuring the mould tool is clean and free from FOD.

Documentation: To complete job cards and other documentation accurately and timely

Instructions: To follow appropriate technical drawings, instructions and or diagrams.

Communication: To communicate with other areas to share any issues and contribute to the smooth running of production.

Additional local needs

Ability to attend site at Kirkbymoorside, North Yorkshire.
