Job description
Responsibilities
  • Support operation and maintenance of Mitsubishi Power Gas and Steam Turbines and associated accessory systems.
  • Develop deep technical knowledge of high-temperature turbine components, including design, materials, coatings, and repair processes.
  • Conduct quality control inspections and liaise with Mitsubishi Power approved repair vendors.
  • Assist in preparing technical repair procedures under guidance from senior engineering management.
  • Help create Requests for Quotation (RFQs), purchase specifications, and related documentation.
  • Respond to technical requests from customers, applying engineering principles to resolve issues effectively.
  • Escalate complex technical problems and facilitate solutions between service delivery and design teams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external repair centres.
  • Document all technical data and prepare detailed repair reports for customers.
  • Travel to customer sites for component inspection, technical reviews, and repair planning.
  • Provide engineering support during unplanned outages to minimise downtime.
  • Collaborate with commercial teams on technical input for sales and service proposals.
  • Act as a key interface among commercial, service, and repair teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Contribute to the development of improved working procedures and resolution of technical non-conformities.
Qualifications
  • We are looking for a flexible and forward-thinking engineer—whether a recent graduate or experienced professional—keen to develop a long-term career in engineering within the energy industry. As a member of our Component Repair Engineering (CRE) team, you will embark on a 6-month rotation, gaining exposure to diverse engineering disciplines and repair activities. Based in Leeds, this role offers the chance to work on exciting projects across the EMEA region and build a strong foundation in turbine component repair engineering.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, ideally with a thermal power focus.
  • Strong theoretical knowledge of mechanical engineering principles.
  • Proficient in CAD software and able to interpret technical drawings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong technical writing ability.
  • Well-organised, disciplined, punctual, and accountable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset within multi-disciplinary, multicultural teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
