Job description

As a Compliance Technologist, you will be meeting business customers, helping them manage their wastewater responsibly and protecting both our network and the environment.

Responsibilities
  • Visit business customer sites to investigate trade effluent discharges and agree on action plans (driving licence essential).
  • Encourage customers to return to compliance and if not, gather evidence to support enforcement or prosecution.
  • Work with our operations teams on pollution incidents, such as blockages or unusual substances entering treatment works.
  • Occasionally raise trade effluent charges for non‑compliance.
  • Build strong working relationships with customers, colleagues and legal teams.
  • Prepare clear records and reports that stand up to scrutiny.
Essential Qualifications
  • Experience in a regulatory background (e.g. auditing, enforcement, police).
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle.
  • Strong IT skills (MS Office) with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to think logically, follow regulations, and maintain accurate records.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Understanding of wastewater or environmental processes.
  • Basic knowledge of chemistry or laboratory work.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
