Job summary

Mears Group in Yorkshire is seeking a Compliance Technician to conduct tenancy property checks across the region. You will complete monthly fire safety tests, emergency lighting checks, and Legionella hygiene assessments, in line with regulations and company procedures.

A full UK driving licence is required; a company van, fuel card and uniform are provided. The role is full-time, permanent, Monday to Friday, with 42.5 hours per week and a focus on accuracy and tenant safety.

  • Carry out monthly Legionella water hygiene checks in occupied properties.
  • Option to perform PAT testing if qualified.

Compliance Technician

Location: Yorkshire – field based

Contract: Full Time, Permanent

Salary up to £30,598 per annum, plus commercial vehicle & fuel card

42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.00am – 5.00pm

Mears provides temporary accommodation to asylum seekers whilst their claim is being assessed in three regions: Northeast, Yorkshire and Humber, Northern Ireland, and Scotland. At the end of May 2021 Mears had over 19,000 service users across the three regions. Mears work in partnership with central and local Government, registered providers, tenants, landlords and investors to find solutions to homelessness, provide more social and affordable housing and create specialist housing for people with care needs.

As a Compliance Technician you will be responsible for completing approximately 20 tenanted property compliance checks per day across Yorkshire. The role includes carrying out monthly fire alarm and smoke alarm tests, monthly emergency lighting checks, and monthly Legionella water hygiene checks in occupied properties. There may also be an opportunity to carry out PAT (portable appliance testing) should the candidate hold the relevant qualification. The successful candidate must work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of accuracy, ensure all checks are completed in line with current regulations and company procedures, and accurately record results and findings using the required documentation or handheld systems.

To drive a Mears vehicle, you must be aged over 21 have held your licence over 3 months and have less than 9 points.
